A central means of expression in my work is reverse glass painting. I have devoted myself to this technique with increasing intensity for the past two years. For me the creative appeal lies in the unpredictable: As the paintings are created in reverse, the outcome always remains somewhat open. The reversal of the painting process is particularly exciting - the first brushstroke is the most visible in the final artwork, the last forms the background, almost like a rewinding of the classic creation of a painting.
The series Dynamic Impulse was created in 2024 following my last trip through Asia. Inspired by vibrant metropolises such as Tokyo, Taipei and Bangkok, I wanted to capture the speed and intensity of the many impressions that passed by like a living stream. The dynamic impressions are reflected in expressive applications of paint that capture the speed and energy of these cities. Metallic backgrounds, reminiscent of skyscrapers and the interplay of light and architecture, emphasize the urban dynamism of the works.
In my latest reverse glass paintings, movement remains tangibly present. In the Dissolving Shapes series, flowers seem to be caught by an invisible wind - they dance across the glass surface, swirl, merge and dissolve. The works explore the tension between form and dissolution. The floral motif loses its contours and gains a new, powerful form of expression. In these works, I visualize a feeling that is deeply familiar to me: the fleeting moment between holding on and letting go - in which surrender begins, inner resistance dissolves and the courage to embrace imperfection becomes a creative force.
